Four Philips Hue Bridge Compatible Led Strips

Philips Hue Bridge Compatible Led Strip

I’m pretty sure you are looking for Hue-compatible LED strips because the Philips Hue Plus is expensive and above your price range.

If you are looking for a LED strip that will work with your Hue Hub then you have come to the right place. While you would not get all the features, the Plus provides they will still give you a light show. The Philip Hue Plus is a super popular led strip that has many features that will enhance your entertainment systems.

You can also install them around furniture and under cabinets for some added accent lighting. Once connected to the hub, you can place timers, schedules, and scenes to personalize your light strip. One of the best things, about the Philips Hue lights, is the colors: they have a wide range of shades to cater to every mood.

What To Look For in A Light Strips?

Led Length: LED strips are available in different lengths and, surprisingly, the more expensive options (like Philips Hue) tend to be shorter. Plus, strips are easy to cut down with scissors if necessary.

Multiple Strip Connection: When you do not have enough space to cover, the solution is connecting two strips. Be sure that your strip’s adapter has a high power-rating so it can support adding another strip.

Brightness: LEDs come in a variety of wattages, lengths, and brightnesses. An understanding of these three things is crucial when purchasing LEDs for your commercial or residential project to match the desired outcome.

Lumens: 200 lumens per foot would be more appropriate for general lighting needs as it provides sufficient brightness with minimal power consumption (energy saving).

GLEDOPTO Zigbee USB LED Strip Light

GLEDOPTO Zigbee USB LED Strip Light

If you are looking for Philips Hue compatible LED strip lights, you’ll need one that works with Zigbee. Zigbee is a wireless technology that uses low-power digital radio to communicate with each other. The best part of this technology is that it works with every Zigbee device, including the Hue Bridge.

They offer over 16 million colors and are dimmable, which is perfect for parties or bedroom ceiling. When you purchase the GLEDOPTO, there is a 30-day money-back and a 12 months warranty for peace of mind.

Apart from this, the colors are adjustable and the strips are very flexible. Some customers have complained of the random flicking of the lights, but overall it is an amazing Philips Hue light strips alternative.

  • It works with standard Zigbee Gateways.
  • Offer 16 million color changes.
  • 12-month warranty and 30 days money back.

GIDERWEL Smart ED Light Strip Plus

GIDERWEL Smart ED Light Strip Plus

One of the great things about Giderwel LED light strips is that they’re highly customizable. You can get a generic strip and control it with ZigBee, or you could bundle your controller (custom-built) with pre-wired lights so that all you need to do is plug them in when installing them for instant lighting.

Setting up with the Hue bridge takes seconds and integrated with any problems. However, the adhesive in the back is weak, and some notice delays when adjusting the brightness.

The Giderwel Smart ED is compatible with SmartThings and Alexa, to name a few. Further, they work with a variety of third-party apps that allow you to sync with disco and party mode. For this affordable price, the GIDERWEL is an excellent alternative to Philips Hue LED strip lights.

Pros

  • Affordable.
  • Bright
  • Amazing color changes.

Cons

  • Problems with the double-sided tape.
  • Sometimes delay in color changes.

SLYVANIA indoor ZigBee Strips

SLYVANIA indoor ZigBee Strips

Sylvania has millions of color options for its strip lights that also have adjustable white lighting to make sure your space feels cozy. This company also offers dimming capabilities so no matter what mood you’re feeling there are just the right colors for any occasion.

The Strip Lights come in three 24 inch strips and comes equipped with an adhesive grip so they don’t move around once installed (which can be tedious). Overall, these lights are one of my favorite options for home lighting systems.

Integration with third-party devices is super easy and is faster than the Philips Hue. The Sylvania has a great lumen output and surprisingly very bright for the price. Plus; they offer integrated voice commands with the set-up of Amazon Alexa. However, it isn’t as great as Philip Hue strips when comparing the quality of colors and the adhesive back.

Great for places like under the kitchen cabinet, behind your television, and your room.

Pros

  • Easy to install.
  • Zigbee integrated.
  • Great for the price.

Cons

  • Greasy and oily to the touch.

If you are looking for a LED light strip that works with the Philips Hue bridge and app, then the Quotra is another perfect option. They connect with most third-party devices such as Alexa, Google Home, and Support IFTTT for Scheduling,, adding scenes and adjusting brightness.

One downside is it is not compatible with Wink, SmartThings, Bluetooth, or Zwave hub, but the adhesive is strong and sticks to any surface. It is also a cheaper alternative and the colors are similar to Philips Hue Plus. The weatherproof coating is convenient and set-up is quick.

Perfect for accent lighting, entertainment, or installation in your bedroom. I am sure you will love these strip lights while it isn’t the Hue it’s an acceptable alternative.

Pros

  • Third-party set-up.
  • The Hue find this strip in seconds.
  • Bright lights.
  • No delays.

Cons

None.

To Recap,

I know I said this a few times above, but all these Philips Hue compatible LED strips are nowhere near the Hue quality or brightness. However, it is affordable and works perfectly with the Hue bridge.

If I had to choose one product, Sylvania is my top choice because it comes from a reliable company and they have a reputation for having quality lights. Similarly, a budget-friendly strip is the GLEDOPTO plus, the 30-money back and twelve months warranty are attractive incentives.
